EchoPod Cone Bottom Tank

Cone Bottom Tanks

You can mount EchoPod in a cone bottom tank as long as it's directly over the center of the cone.

EchoPod is designed for mounting on a 1" NPT fitting, such as a tank adapter, flange, bracket or stand pipe. It's important that the bottom of the transducer of EchoPod is as close to the bottom of the fitting as possible. Always include the supplied Viton® gasket when mounting EchoPod.

Tank Adapter: Select a tank adapter fitting with minimal height to ensure that EchoPod's transducer will not be substantially elevated into the fitting.

Tank Adapter

Riser: Installations with tall, narrow risers can impede the acoustic signal. Use a fitting with the proper riser height and inner diameter.

Side Mount Bracket: The LM50-1001-1 side mount bracket or equivalent can be used for open tank top installations against the side wall. The LM50-1001-1 includes a 2" x 1" reducer bushing.

Stand Pipe: A stand pipe should be used to dampen turbulence. In any application where medium to heavy turbulence is present, install EchoPod in a stand pipe. Additionally, if foam is present, use a standpipe. Select a 2"(or larger) stand pipe that runs the length of the span. Cut a 45º notch at the bottom of the tank and a 1/4" hole at the top to equalize the pressure.
